A length of outsized knitting is abandoned on a tiny table. Green, then white rope forms an institutional, knitted wall that falters, precariously dropped stitches on each row tagged till only one stitch remains on the needle. Made during a residency and exhibited in the year of the overthrow of Milosevi, following the Nato intervention in the war conflict in Kosovo in 1999, the Serbian/Bosnian civil wars in the 1990’s and the disintegration of the former Yugoslavia after the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 and collapse of the Eastern bloc.
